Diamond bracelet makes wearable payments a high-end luxury

Payments wearables have run the gamut from gloves, to sports jerseys, sunglasses and more, but there possibly hasn't been one as eye-catching as a diamond-encrusted bracelet.

That's what Swiss-based Armillion had in mind when it created the "Adamantos" bracelet that just happens to carry a £1 million ($1.3 million U.S.) spending limit. As far as fashion, the bracelet is made of ceramic, 18k white gold and encrusted with 252 cut diamonds weighing 4.6 karats, according to the company's website.

Mastercard powers the payments technology for the bracelet, allowing owners to adjust the spending limits, access their balance, and turn payments on and off via an app.

This item will also be fairly exclusive, as Armillion says it is making just 10 of the payments bracelets, at a cost of more than £60,000 ($78,000 U.S.) each.

If that price scares away potential buyers, the company says it has more affordable options, including the titanium "Black Beast."

As for the diamond bracelet's name, the company explains that Adamantos is a variation of the word diamond, meaning "indomitable and undefeatable."
