Diebold Inc. has completed its $1.8 billion
The corporation will keep its U.S. headquarters in North Canton, Ohio, and retains a large presence in Paderborn, Germany, under the new brand Diebold Nixdorf, the company said in an Aug. 16 press release.
Diebold was the second-largest ATM maker when it announced plans last fall to acquire Germany’s Wincor Nixdorf, which was third-largest in the industry. The combined entity sold or currently services about 1 million ATMs to banks worldwide and also operates hundreds of thousands of ATMs in the retail sector, with annual sales of more than $5 billion.
Diebold Nixdorf plans leverage data and new technology to streamline transactions across diverse devices and mobile applications, said Andy W. Mattes, Diebold Nixdorf’s CEO, said in the release.
“We are eager to work together with our customers to bridge the physical and digital worlds of currency and consumer transactions through the best services, software and technology portfolio in the industry,” he said.
