Diebold Inc. has begun installation of 12 new ATMs featuring advanced self-deposit and denomination-acceptance capabilities in The State Bank of Canton Ticino in Switzerland, the ATM manufacturer announced Dec. 22.
North Canton, Ohio-based Diebold will provide the ATMs to the current fleet of 50 at the bank, also known as BancaStato, the company said in a press release.
The ATMs will feature Opteva 522 and 562 cash dispensers, and Opteva 720 and 760 advanced-terminal functions, the company stated.
In addition, four of the new terminals will feature Diebold deposit automation technology, which speeds the deposit-transaction process by accepting deposits of up to 30 banknotes in less than 60 seconds, the company noted.
BancaStato chose the Opteva 720 and 760 ATMs to improve its self-service options for customers by streamlining envelope-free cash deposits, Diebold stated.
The ATMs feature enhanced note acceptors, which accept up to 50 mixed-denomination notes at one time, the press release stated. Bank customers simply insert a stack of notes and follow step-by-step instructions to complete self-service deposits.
BancaStato’s new Opteva ATMs also feature Agilis3 software, which Diebold calls its “next generation, global software platform,” enabling ATMs to operate in multi-channel and multi-vendor environments, or integrating all ATMs at a facility regardless of manufacturer.
