Discover Financial Services on Oct. 23 launched a redesigned version of its website that promotes more than just credit cards, PaymentsSource has learned.
“As we are expanding into financial services beyond just cards, we’re trying to bring our other services into the forefront,” Steve Furman, Discover director of e-business, tells PaymentSource.
Besides credit cards, the site now promotes the company’s cashback-bonus initiative, banking and loans. Under those headings, Discover offers quick links to the products it offers, such mortgage loans, certificates of deposit, savings accounts, rewards programs and cards.
Though the redesign emphasizes noncard products, the site still has a large banner across the top that showcases the cashback-rewards program.
Discover often makes changes in response to customer feedback, but this was a natural progression to promote the company’s new services, Furman says.
“The new site was the first step,” he says. “In the course of the next year, you’ll see similar things pop up to more tightly integrate [Discover] into an umbrella brand so consumers can see what [products and services] we have to offer.”
