Discover Taps Graf As Its New Chief Financial Officer

Discover Financial Services on April 4 announced the appointment of R. Mark Graf as the company’s executive vice president, chief financial officer and chief accounting officer, replacing Roy Guthrie, who is retiring.

Graf previously was an investment adviser with private equity firm Aquiline Capital Partners, and before that he was a partner with Barrett Ellman Stoddard Capital. Graf also previously served as executive vice president and chief financial officer at Fifth Third Bancorp.

Graf, who will report to David Nelms, Discover chairman and CEO, begins his new role for the Riverwoods, Ill.-based card issuer and network on April 11.
