Discover's Diners Club in Merchant Acquiring Pact with Bangkok Bank

Business owners in Southeast Asia who use Bangkok Bank's payment services will be able to accept cards on the Discover Global Network, under an agreement with Discover's Diners Club International Ltd.

"By opening up our Discover Global Network to Bangkok Bank's extensive merchant network, we are strengthening our acceptance footprint throughout Southeast Asia," says Diane Offereins, president of payment services at Discover, in a May 30 press release.

The list of accepted cards includes Diners Club International, Discover, BC Global, DinaCard and RuPay.

The Discover Global Network operates in 185 countries. Bangkok Bank is Thailand's largest commercial bank, and is also engaged in a nationwide mobile P2P payments project.
