Dollar Bank To Use NCR's Video ATMs

Dollar Bank has chosen to install NCR Aptra Interactive Teller machines, NCR Corp. announced Feb. 21.

The machines use a built-in camera to connect a user remotely to a bank employee. The Pittsburgh retail bank, a new NCR customer, will use the machines in its branches and drive-up lanes.

"We have been evaluating this technology and now believe the virtual teller can significantly improve the delivery of service for our customers," Robert Oeler, Dollar Bank president and chief executive, said in a press release.

In January, NCR bought a minority stake in the company that developed the technology behind the Aptra ATMs, uGenius Technology LLC of Sandy, Utah (see story).
