U.S. Bancorp’s Elavon Inc. merchant-processing unit has Class B-certified Hypercom Corp.’s SPOS32 EMV payment software on Hypercom’s T4200 and M4200 payment devices in Canada, the Phoenix-based terminal maker announced Feb. 9.
With the certification, Atlanta-based Elavon may process credit card transactions originating from the devices in Canada, effective immediately, Hypercom noted in a news release. Class B certification means that Hypercom will provide technical support to Elavon merchants using these devices.
Hypercom’s PIN-Transaction Security-approved and Interac-certified Optimum T4200 and M4200 product family for North America shares the same platform, user interface and software toolkit. This maximizes efficiency and application portability, and it offer customers a broad range of options to serve any market need, Hypercom noted in the release.
Interac is Canada’s PIN-debit network.
The SPOS32 software also complies with the Payment Application Data Security Standard, Hypercom said.
