Elavon, Realex Enter Managed Gateway Agreement for Europe

Elavon has hired Realex Payments to provide a number of digital payments services for the Elavon Payment Gateway in Europe.

Realex will provide a localized, multi-channel payment gateway for businesses across Europe, which will combine with Elavon’s processing and merchant acquiring functions to form Elavon’s gateway in Europe. Realex will also supply sales support, and outsourced and localized technology services for clients. Elavon, a subsidiary of U.S. Bancorp, provides processing in the U.S., Europe and other global markets.

Realex has processed e-commerce payments for more than a decade, and its clients include Vodafone, Virgin Atlantic, Aer Lingus, Party Poker and Not on the High Street. In 2012, Realex signed a deal with the processor Global Payments to provide a managed online payments service for all of its retailer clients. It also recently launched Realex Fire, a social payments product.

Elavon also develops payments technology through an internal lab and targets the European mobile payment market with its MobileMerchant platform.
