Electronic Check Services Inc., a Springfield, Mo.-based check processor, has begun selling electronic check-conversion software and hardware made by RDM Corp. The RDM products enable merchants to accept checks and deposit them remotely to their bank accounts. Electronic Check Services has used RDM's terminals for about two years, Derron Winfrey, Electronic Check Services president, tells CardLine sister publication ISO&Agent Weekly. Within the past year, Waterloo, Ontario-based RDM asked Winfrey about other products the two companies could work on, which spurred the deal announced this week. Winfrey says independent sales organizations will sell the new service. Sales agents also will be able to sell merchants access to Electronic Check Services' database of bad-check writers.
