Facebook is expanding use of its "buy" button through merchants on the e-commerce platform Shopify, allowing consumers to purchase items from Shopify merchants on the social media site.
After about a year of testing the button concept with a small group of merchants, Shopify says it is offering the service to a larger group of U.S.-based Shopify merchants.
Facebook's move continues a trend in which buy buttons are increasingly appearing on social media sites.
