First Data Corp. is working with mobile news network operator LSN Mobile Inc. to provide a mobile advertising and coupon system for merchants, the companies announced June 15.
The My Mobile Offer system delivers codes via text messages to consumers who opt in to receive them. The consumer then redeems the offer by visiting a retailer in person and presenting the code. Merchants receive demographic information usable for future marketing campaigns.
The My Mobile Offer system is “a simple, seamless program that consumers will readily engage with,” Lee Durham, LSN Mobile co-founder and chief executive of, said in a press release. It also can “provide retailers with some additional insights on their mobile customer base,” he said.
LSN Mobile is based in Atlanta. First Data, also of Atlanta, is a unit of the Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. private-equity firm.
