First Data certification boosts InfineaPay mobile EMV app

First Data has certified the mobile EMV application of Infinite Peripherals to integrate within its payments network.

The certification allows the InfineaPay app and its accompanying InfineaEngine framework, which runs on Apple iOS, to accept EMV payments through both contact and contactless methods for all major card brands and U.S. debit networks. It will also support Apple Pay, Android Pay and Samsung Pay mobile wallets.

First Data will include its TransArmor point-to-point encryption and tokenization services to payments moving through the InfineaEngine.

InfineaPay is designed to deliver faster time to market for EMV compliance on the Apple platform in the transportation, retail and hospitality sectors. As such, it also supports pay-at-the-table methods and e-mail or phone payment orders.

"Obtaining this certification with First Data paves the road to success for us and our customers," Andrey Tikhonov, senior director of payment technology at Elk Grove, Ill.-based Infinite Peripherals, said in an April 13 press release. "We see tremendous demand for full EMV capable mobile payment solutions in these sectors, where the Apple platform has captured a well-deserved market share."

The InfineaEngine powers the app to also support Visa Quick Chip and Mastercard M/chip Fast, the upgrades the card brands introduced to speed up EMV chip card authorization at the point-of-sale readers.

It also is in compliance with the latest Mastercard BIN changes, as well as supporting industry standards for recent upgrades to the Transport Layer Security on the web.
