First National Officially Launches Discover Card Rollout

First National Bank of Omaha, one of three banks that can issue cards on all four major networks, announced Monday the official launch of its Discover Financial Services card.

Other banks that issue cards on all four networks include General Electric Co.’s GE Money and HSBC Holdings PLC.

First National said in October it would add Discover and American Express Co. cards to its MasterCard Inc. and Visa Inc. card offerings (see story). At the time it already had 2.5 million cards in circulation.

First National, a unit of First National of Nebraska Inc., also is an agent issuer, issuing credit cards on behalf of other banks.
