Avidia Bank of Hudson, Mass. has contracted payments technology company FIS to offer card-free ATM transactions through a mobile app.
The $1.2 billion-asset Avidia will allow its customers to set up withdrawals in advance on their smartphones, which will display a receipt afterwards. The option, "Cardless Cash," uses QR code and app authentication.
"As the pace of banking speeds up, our customers want access how and where they choose," said Avidia president and chief executive Mark O'Connell in an Aug. 18 press release. "Cardless Cash is another solution to meet those needs."
