Fleetcor UK bolsters B-to-B bench by adding commercial pay vets

Commercial payment gateway Fleetcor UK has added execs from Mastercard and Lloyds as the company looks to add services in fleet and other categories.

Thore Vestergaard joins as senior vice president and managing director of commercial cards for Europe; and Allister Mitchell is Fleetcor U.K.'s new vice president of core products. Both will report to Alan King, group president of Fleetcor for U.K. and Australia.

Vestergaard joins Fleetcor UK from Mastercard, where he most recently served as managing director of prepaid management services for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as well as other positions such as global commercial product head and product & marketing head in the prepaid management services division.

Mitchell joins Fleetcor UK from Lloyds, where he spent 7 years as head of products for corporate, commercial and virtual payments. He helped reposition Lloyds’ commercial payments capabilities and the bank’s B-to-B payments strategy transformation, which included the launch of new products underpinned by innovative digital and mobile servicing infrastructure.

Fleetcor is diversifying its core fleet card business, working with First Data to boost digital gifting, acquiring Cambridge Global Payments to expand B-to-B technology and collaborating with IBM to build payments analytics.

"Their extensive experience in leading the growth and development of B2B payment solutions across the U.K. and international markets will help us drive continued leadership; not only in fuel cards but across other corporate payments categories, allowing us to better serve SMEs and large companies alike,” said King in a release.
