Giesecke & Devrient GmbH recently became the first company to receive MasterCard Worldwide’s certification for an M/Chip Advance-compliant card product, the Germany-based technology provider announced on Dec. 9.
MasterCard’s M/Chip Advance is a dual-interface chip that features MasterCard’s PayPass contactless service and enables card issuers to offer cardholders multiple applications such as transit services and loyalty programs on one card, Giesecke & Devrient said in a recent news release.
Giesecke & Devrient has incorporated the chip within its Convego Join contactless card products, which are based on Java Card and GlobalPlatform specifications.
