Heartland Payment Systems Inc. this week announced it will offer members of the National Restaurant Association a suite of payment products that includes card processing, check services, and payroll, tip-reporting and compliance reports as part of an agreement between the payment processor and the Washington, D.C.-based trade group.
Dubbed the “Full Course Business Solutions,” the service includes only Heartland products and services. Restaurateurs do not have to buy new hardware to use the service, but they have that option, a Heartland spokesperson tells PaymentsSource.
The association “is exclusively endorsing Heartland’s suite of payment products,” the spokesperson for Princeton, N.J.-based Heartland says. It also will help Heartland evaluate its products, “to help guide us on how to structure those offerings to fit the financial needs of restaurants across the country,” she adds.
In 2008, restaurants represented 30% of Heartland’s transaction volume. The National Restaurant Association says its members operate 954,000 locations.
