Credit card delinquencies in Hong Kong stood at HK$357 million (U.S. $46 million) for the second quarter ended June 30, up 53.9% from the HK$232 million during the same period last year, according to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority's survey on credit card lending. Receivables stood at HK$22.2 billion at the end of June, down 6.3% from HK$23.7 billion, according to the survey. The charge-off amount rose to HK$815 million, up 61.1% from the HK$506 million. Total card receivables declined by 0.3% after falling by 8.1% during the previous quarter. The total number of credit card accounts increased by 2.2%, according to the survey. HKMA did not provide actual figures for receivables and number of cards issued.
