CashEdge Inc. has landed Huntington National Bank as a customer for its person-to-person payments software, the New York-based vendor announced March 7.

The subsidiary of Columbus, Ohio-based bank holding company Huntington Bancshares Inc. will offer its customers access to Popmoney through its online- and mobile-banking services later this year, according to CashEdge.

“Increasingly, our customers are looking for leading-edge online and mobile [services] and more convenience,” Jeff Dennes, Huntington senior vice president and director of online and mobile services, said in a press release.

Popmoney enables users to send funds to others using their e-mail address, mobile phone number or bank account information. About 200 financial institutions, including six top 20 U.S. banks, offer Popmoney to their customers, according to CashEdge.

CashEdge processed more than $64 billion in online funds transfers for bank customers in 2010.
