The new office will house product, business development and client support staff. The company currently does business in Japan, China, the Philippines and Australia.

It will also support the company's partnership with Visa. The two companies announced a joint venture last November to bring new prepaid products to the region, where demand has risen in recent years.

"With our client base in the Asia Pacific region growing amidst a backdrop of rapidly expanding consumer demand for flexible prepaid and mobile financial solutions, it makes sense for us to invest in the region," says Scott Salmon, a general manager at the company, in a July 8 press release.

I2c provides e-commerce services and payment platforms to a range of industries, including health care and financial services.
