Federal Recovery Acceptance Inc., dba Paramount Acceptance, a Utah-based collection agency, agreed to pay $55,000 in penalties and fees for conducting unlicensed collections work in Idaho, according to the Idaho Department of Finance.

The agency provided services for fitness clubs in Idaho, department officials say.
"Paramount Acceptance and the department have entered into a consent order to resolve the case, which includes the company’s agreement to immediately obtain the appropriate Idaho license and maintain compliance with Idaho law," said Gavin Gee, department director.
The company could not be reached for comment.
