North American Bancard will use Partner Commerce Inc.’s advertising network to find prospective merchants to help drive account growth, the Troy, Mich.-based independent sales organization announced Jan. 6.
Partner Commerce generates merchant leads by signing deals with website publishers to place advertisements promoting its clients on their websites, Adam Tooter, the company’s director, tells PaymentsSource. For example, an ad promoting North American Bancard might appear on a website frequented by a specific type of merchant, such as a hair salon operators.
“Our goal is to find all of the niche websites where if I were starting a business I would go,” Tooter says.
A prospective merchant might click on the Partner Commerce-placed ad to submit its contact information, which Partner Commerce sends to North American Bancard, Tooter says.
Websites that agree to accept ads promoting the ISO receive up to $20 for each lead and a $50 bonus for each approved merchant account, Tooter says. Partner Commerce receives a cut of those commissions, he explains.
New York-based Partner Commerce also will supply North American Bancard with a dedicated toll-free number and online tracking services to help manage the lead process, Tooter says.
