The prepaid card company
The cards will become available in Southeast Asia in mid-2014, according to the companies' Feb. 26 press release.
The point of sale technology by Atlanta-based InComm allows retailers to activate prepaid cards when customers purchase them. This reduces the risk that thieves will snag cards on display, since the cards are worthless if they have not been activated.
"The launch of point-of-sale-activated cards in these territories will certainly provide value-add and benefits to Money Online's existing and future partners in the region," Money Online chief executive Ganesh Kumar Bangah says in the release.
