Ingenico appoints former CEO of Visa Europe as top strategy exec

Ingenico group has named Nicolas Huss, former CEO of Visa Europe, as its new executive vice president of strategy and performance overseeing innovation and M&A activities, beginning immediately.

Huss reports to Ingenico chairman and CEO Philippe Lazare and serves on the company’s executive committee, according to a Monday press release.

Huss led Visa Europe starting in 2013, and in 2015 Visa announced plans to reunify the unit it had spun off a decade earlier. That process was completed last year.

Prior to joining Visa Europe, Huss was chief executive at Apollo Group, heading its Avant credit card operations in Spain and Ireland, and previously he served at Bank of America and GE Capital.

In his new role, Huss’ duties include directing Ingenico’s strategic and operational moves to stay atop omnichannel payments acceptance, the company said in the release. “Huss’ knowledge of the payment industry and demonstrated leadership capabilities will be a great addition to our team,” Lazare said in the release.
