Oceanpayment, a payment service provider launched six years ago in Shenzhen, China that specializes in global online e-commerce transactions, has agreed to provide merchant acquiring services for JCB, Japan’s top credit card brand.
Through its Hong Kong subsidiary, Oceanpayment will become JCB’s acquiring partner for card customers conducting cross-border e-commerce transactions, according to a Friday press release.
Oceanpayment, which also operates branches in Shanghai, Australia, Singapore, the U.K. and U.S. and supports more than 500 payment methods in 200 countries, has seen strong growth in recent years from merchants in the travel, entertainment, retail and dining sectors. Oceanpayments last year added acceptance for Discover Financial Services' Diners Club brand.
“With the rapid growth of mobile payment and international travel in Asia, Oceanpayment’s flexible and multi-scenario payment solutions will better satisfy our cardholders’ consumption experience,” said Hirohiko Sugiyama, Asia managing director for JCB International, in the release.
