Kount Control is designed to thwart malicious log-ins, bots, credential stuffing and brute force attacks. Fraudsters use those tools to hide identities and take over payment, financial or social media accounts to make fraudulent purchases of products and services.

Kount Control's account takeover protection has three layers — protection, policy and customization, and reporting and data presentation.
"With account takeover fraud up to 78% in recent years, this is something businesses need to address now," Brad Wiskirchen, CEO at Kount, said in the release.
The protection layer of Kount Control evaluates user behavior, device and network anomalies to detect risk and help determine in real-time whether a log-in should be allowed, declined, or challenged with more authentication.
The policy and customization layer provides the capability to customize user experiences and reduce friction by identifying and segmenting users based on common characteristics. Data sets include user type, device specifics, IP risk, geolocation, custom data, and more.
The reporting and data layer provides log-in trend data that includes device and IP information, both of which are often not available to fraud teams, Kount said.
The company also touts the protection's ability to identify and report on failed log-in attempts, risky IPs, compromised accounts, and inbound anomalies to stop account takeover attempts and uncover trends that enrich data and inform future policies.
