Leaf, a provider of tablets for payments, has hired several executives including a director at Heartland Payment Systems, which recently invested in the startup.
Previously a strategic planning director at Heartland, Sarah McCrary has been hired as the chief operating officer at Leaf.

At Heartland, McCrary was the co-inventor of the company's E3 end-to-end encryption technology.
The payments tablet, LeafPresenter, handles card acceptance, customer relationship management and other merchant services. It also has an app store for payments software. Recently
Leaf also hired Chad Kelly as vice president of finance and Dan Smith as vice president of engineering. Kelly was formerly the director of finance and corporate controller of Verivo Software Inc. Smith was formerly the CEO of go2.com, a mobile location-based technology platform.
Leaf is also moving into its own office, a 15,000 square-foot space in Cambridge, Mass. The
