Larkburger is the first merchant in Colorado to use LevelUp, a point of sale payment system that uses phones to display a scannable code for purchases, the companies announced July 16. The LevelUp app allows iPhones and Android handsets to make payments from a linked debit or credit card.

LevelUp announced last week that it is eliminating its interchange fee for payments. It instead will charge 35 cents for every dollar of credit redeemed through the loyalty campaigns it creates for its merchant clients.

LevelUp has merchants in Alabama, California, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Texas, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Washington state and Washington, D.C.

LevelUp says it processes about $2 million in sales per month for its 3,000 merchant clients.
