LevelUp, LuvJo collaborate on mobile ordering for cafes, food trucks

LevelUp is working with LuvJo, a New York-based firm that specializes in online ordering technology for small restaurants, to support order-ahead capabilities for thousands of coffee shops, juice bars and food trucks across the U.S.

The alliance will create a turnkey process for LuvJo’s merchants to reach millions of consumers in LevelUp’s base and streamline in-app payments through LevelUp’s partnership with Chase Pay, as order-ahead becomes a bigger priority for all sizes of restaurants, said Seann Moriarty, LevelUp’s head of partnerships.

“Just like big companies like Starbucks, small restaurants are starting to see big benefits from mobile order-ahead services,” Moriarty said. The companies announced their collaboration Tuesday.

Operations like food trucks, that move their physical location and operate during crunch times and generate big lines, will see significant gains when consumers can order ahead with an app like LevelUp, according to Moriarty.

LevelUp’s research suggests that even small restaurants see their sales rise at least 15% when they add order-ahead capabilities, because customers tend to visit more often and browse the in-app menu for other suggestions, Moriarty said.

“LuvJo excels at building online menus for small restaurants and food trucks, and LevelUp can significantly help these small operations improve the user experience for order-ahead and payment,” he said.
