Linked2pay adds Pay by Text for banks

Linked2pay is expanding a text-based, person-to-person payment service to allow banks to offer it for card and Automated Clearing House payments.

Pay by Text is now an option on the payment technology provider's Bank Centric Payments platform, allowing a recipient of a text to access a secure wallet, complete a transaction and receive a receipt.

The Pay by Text option becomes part of a platform that already enables banks to offer online forms, mobile banking, e-mail, a virtual terminal, phone interactive voice response, shopping cart checkout and remote check deposit.

The service is immediately available for banks and their payment solution resellers to offer to clients, Oxnard, Calif.-based linked2pay stated in a Nov. 1 press release.

"This new feature is a prime example of how the platform helps us as a bank and our resellers more effectively offer payment acceptance methods that keep pace with market demands," Bart Murphy, executive vice president of commercial banking at Avidia Bank, said in the release. Avidia Bank was among the first this year to use linked2pay's full bank payments platform.

Last month, linked2pay incorporated automatic ACH approval for merchant accounts, allowing its resellers to cut paperwork and days off the process of adding ACH payment acceptance to a merchant platform.
