Litle & Co.’s Web-based merchant clients may begin to protect themselves against card-not-present fraud through CyberSource Corp.’s Decision Manager online fraud-prevention service, CyberSource announced March 23.
Visa Inc. owns Mountain View, Calif.-based CyberSource. Litle & Co. is a Lowell, Mass.-based e-commerce payment provider.
Decision Manager enables e-commerce merchants to detect fraudulent transactions quickly because it includes comparative data derived from more than 60 billion transactions processed annually by Visa and CyberSource, CyberSource noted in a news release.
The service also enables merchants to assess whether a transaction is valid in about two seconds because it correlates for each order the comparative data, insights such as digital fingerprinting of the device initiating the order, and validation tests, CyberSource noted in the release.
CyberSource evaluates the order using specific merchant-established rules and either sends it on for fulfillment or delays it for manual review.
