MasterCard Worldwide today announced its latest application for the Apple iPhone, a feature called Priceless Picks that enables users to find local places to visit and shop. The application uses GPS search technology to locate restaurants, coffee shops and other locales. An expansion of the online version of Priceless Picks, consumers who share information on their favorite places to visit, dine or shop drive the feature. The database has "hundreds of thousands" of entries, according to MasterCard. The addition of the mobile application gives consumers a more convenient way to access the service, says MasterCard. "The Priceless Picks takes the Priceless campaign to another stage of what is considered priceless to consumers, whether it's a place or experience they want to share," Chris Jogis, MasterCard senior vice president of U.S. marketing, tells CardLine. "We are providing a forum for consumers to share their Priceless Picks and providing a more convenient way to experience them." MasterCard is supporting the new application launch with three, 15-second television spots that will run on primetime national and cable television through the end of the year, Jogis says. One ad features a person searching for the best seat to catch a fly ball at a baseball stadium and a couple marking a park bench as a good place to kiss.
