“The purpose is old-fashioned networking,” says Mark Dunn, organizer of the first local meetings. Dunn is founder of Field Guide Enterprises LLC, a Hartland, Wis.-based consulting firm and is the Midwest association’s treasurer and past president.

The first meeting of the Wisconsin Payments Professionals convened May 24 in Madison, Wis., followed by the initial meeting of the Chicago Payments Professionals group May 25 in Oak Brook, Ill. The Midwest Acquirers Association is planning local-chapter meetings this fall in Louisville, Ky., and Omaha, Neb.

The association would like to work with local members to organize the events, Dunn says. The association is funding the initial local meetings, but it plans to seek sponsors, he adds.

At the Chicago chapter’s meeting, Dunn suggested interested parties visit the Chicago Payment Professionals group on LinkedIn.
