A monthly average of 1.43% of consumers in Singapore missed paying one or more of their credit card bills from July through September, up 14 basis points from 1.29% in the third quarter of 2007, according to the Credit Bureau of Singapore. The percentage of consumers who did not pay their full credit card bills, but paid a portion of them, also declined slightly, to 38.25% during the quarter from 38.31% during the same period last year. Some 0.15% of consumers in Singapore canceled credit cards during the quarter, up from 0.13% who did a year earlier, the bureau says. "Although the economy went into the red [during the quarter, bureau] statistics currently show no significant spike in delinquency and default on credit cards and personal loans," a bureau spokesperson tells CardLine Global. "Consumers in Singapore continue to manage their credit card and personal-loan payments for now."
