National Australia Bank adds 'flexible' terminals as payment tech proliferates

Ingenico Group has delivered more than 3,000 "smart" terminals for National Australia Bank to accommodate the myriad acceptance needs of its consumers.

The Move/5000 payment terminal is part of its Telium Tetra platform designed to support all Australian payment methods, including NFC-based and other mobile wallets. It also offers connectivity options through 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Designed for both indoor and mobility use-cases, the compact Move/5000 fits different merchant environments and can be used at the counter, on the go, or integrated into a checkout solution, according to Ingenico.

"The trust NAB placed in us for the introduction of the Move/5000 to their customers illustrates our ability to provide future-proof products and services suited to fast-changing payment regulation landscapes," John Tait, senior vice president of Asia-Pacific for Ingenico Group, said in a Feb. 27 press release. "The Telium Tetra platform will enable merchants to access an open portfolio of applications, and therefore meet their innovative value-added requirements."

NAB selected the 3G wireless Move/5000 for the replacement of its 2G terminal fleet across Australia, and is now offering the terminals with the latest standards and state-of-the-art payment features to all its merchant customers.

Ingenico has consistently made improvements to its Telium platform, introducing Wi-Fi capabilities two years ago.
