NCO Group, the largest collection agency based on revenue, announced March 21 the appointment of Ronald A. Rittenmeyer as company president and chief executive, effective immediately.
Rittenmeyer has consulted with NCO's senior management team during the past four months regarding its business plan, growth initiatives, offerings and costs savings improvements, according to the company.
Michael Barrist will remain as chairman of the Board of Directors. "We thank Michael Barrist for his 25 years with NCO and the leadership he has provided the company." said Colin Farmer, a managing director at One Equity Partners and a member of NCO's board, in a prepared statement. "Ron Rittenmeyer has a strong record as a successful CEO and we are thrilled to partner with him in the next phase of NCO's growth."
Rittenmeyer was most recently the chairman, president and CEO at Electronic Data Systems until its sale to Hewlett-Packard in late 2008. Before EDS, he was chairman, president and CEO at Safety-Kleen Corp.; chairman, president and CEO at RailTex; president and CEO at Ameriserve Food Services; president and COO at Ryder TRS; president and COO at Merisel; and COO at Burlington Northern Railroad.
He spent 20 years at Frito-Lay Inc. and PepsiCo Foods International holding a variety of senior level positions. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of American International Group, Tenet Healthcare Corp. and IMS, a privately held company.
