The ATM and self-serve kiosk maker NCR Corp. has purchased the assets of Netkey Inc., a provider of kiosk digital digital signage management software, reports American Banker, a CardLine sister publication. NCR, ofThe Duluth, Ga.-based, ATM and self-serve kiosk maker said Monday that the acquisition would help its expanding kiosk operations; many of Netkey's 400 clients already use NCR's technology with their self-checkout and point point-of of-sale systems. The business Business-machine maker Pitney Bowes Inc., for example, uses Netkey software on an NCR kiosk for one of its postage meter products. NCR did not give a price for the transaction. Netkey is based in East Haven, Conn. "This acquisition will enable NCR to help its customers across multiple industries with kiosks and digital digital-signage solutions [services] that deliver more more-effective transactions, promotions and information as part of a merged channel strategy," Mike Webster, vice president and general manager of NCR's retail business line, said in a press release.
