NCR Silver Adds QuickBooks Support through Retail Intel

NCR Corp. has integrated its NCR Silver iPad point of sale system with Retail Intel, a cloud-based service provider that can pull in sales data from QuickBooks.

NCR, of Duluth, Ga., expects the integration to speed up data transfers and improve operational efficiency and accuracy for the small businesses that use its tablet-based system to accept payments.

More mobile point of sale providers are adding QuickBooks support to appeal to the merchants who already use Intuit's accounting software.  ShopKeep POS also works with Retail Intel for QuickBooks integration, and Intuit last year added a way for QuickBooks users to connect to Square's mobile card acceptance app.

NCR has been steadily adding features to its Silver point of sale system. In November, NCR made it possible for small-business owners to manage reports across multiple locations and set up user roles with different permissions. In March, NCR added technology to let merchants develop and manage rewards programs.
