'Nod to Pay' Google Glass App Eaze Enters Public Beta

The Dutch startup Eaze has begun the public beta of its "Nod to Pay" app for the Google Glass headset and has added support for two Bitcoin wallets.

The app, which now works with Bitcoin wallets from Coinbase and Blockchain.info, lets Google Glass wearers initiate a payment by using the device's built-in camera to scan a QR code presented by the merchant. The transaction details then appear on the headset's built-in screen, and the user nods to approve the payment.

Eaze unveiled its app in February as a standalone wallet. "With the integration of Coinbase and Blockchain.info we have … answered to the request of the market by building not yet another wallet but by making existing wallets available on Glass," Rutger van Zuidam, Eaze's co-founder, says in a May 15 press release.

Eaze plans to support more Bitcoin wallets in the future.
