Mobile payment platform P97 Networks and decoupled debit provider Zipline will collaborate on m-commerce products targeting merchant and fuel industry clients that face competitive pressure to adopt mobile payments.
The partnership will allow those customers to use ZipLine's decoupled debit payment platform through P97's cloud-based PetroZone mobile commerce and marketing platform.
Retailers can use their existing point of sale systems to access mobile technology through a cloud structure, Zipline CEO Stephen Goodrich said in an Oct. 8 press release.
"Our collaboration provides an on-demand rapid sign up process linking ZipLine ACH to PetroZone to save consumers time and create immediate savings at the pump. Partnering with P97 really makes a lot of sense, Goodrich said.
The partnership will also provide scale for fast technology upgrades, said Don Frieden, president and CEO of P97 Networks, in the press release. "Reducing support costs of legacy systems, offering new payment methods, the need to go mobile now with a scalable platform, and the desire to provide relevant digital offers that drive loyalty [are] addressed by our partnership [which] hits the accelerator for those merchants who want rapid deployments and higher ROI on their mobile initiatives.
