Pay Anywhere LLC has released a software upgrade that expands point-of-sale features for merchants using Apple Inc. iOS products to accept payments through the mobile payments processing company’s software.
Merchants upgrading to version 1.5 of Pay Anywhere will have easier access to their cash drawer to provide change and print receipts directly from their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch devices with an AirPrint-enabled printer or Star thermal printer, the Troy, Mich.-based company announced Feb. 27.
In effect, the added ability of Pay Anywhere to be linked to a cash drawer enhances the software’s existing cash feature, the company stated in a press release. A merchant accepting a cash transaction can open his cash drawer to provide change due at the push of a button. With the addition of the cash drawer and wireless printing, Pay Anywhere can serve as a POS system for merchants who need added functions, the company stated.
The Pay Anywhere upgrade also allows merchants to create inventory lists sorted by price or in alphabetical order, the company added.
North American Bancard created Pay Anywhere in 2011 to provide merchants a way to accept credit card payments through Visa Inc., MasterCard Worldwide, Discover Financial Services or American Express Co. with mobile-payment software and a free Pay Anywhere credit card reader that attaches to a mobile device.
The independent sales organization continues to offer Pay Anywhere software as a free download from the Apple App Store. Merchants receive the Pay Anywhere service with no upfront costs, monthly minimums or monthly fees, the company stated.
North American Bancard, a registered merchant services provider and ISO since 1992 for Global Payments Inc., processes more than $12 billion in electronic transactions annually for more than 125,000 merchants nationwide, the company stated.
