PayPal Inc. on May 26 said it has been selected as a payout option for third-party developers redeeming Facebook credits, Facebook Inc.’s online currency.
The move is a result of a partnership between PayPal, a unit of eBay Inc., and Facebook. There are roughly 250 developers that use Facebook credits to accept payments within online applications, such as games that run on Facebook’s social networking website.
“The addition of PayPal brings a secure and flexible payout option that makes integrating the virtual currency even easier,” Carey Kolaja, PayPal’s senior director of digital goods, wrote in PayPal’s blog.
