Venture capital and technology marketing veteran Allison Johnson has departed PayPal, where she was chief marketing officer for the past 16 months.
PayPal’s public relations office on Friday confirmed Johnson’s departure in an email to PaymentsSource.
More recently, PayPal entered a marketing partnership with FIS, allowing consumers in FIS’ card rewards program to redeem points at PayPal merchants.
Johnson served in several marketing and venture capital during her time with the companyl. Before joining PayPal, Johnson was founder and managing partner at West—a hybrid investment and marketing firm.
She was also Apple’s vice president of worldwide marketing communications from 2005 to 2011, guiding marketing strategy for the iPhone, iPod and App store. Before Apple, Johnson served as senior vice president of global brand marketing at HP.
