Processor Emphasizes Sales Training Courses

Central Payment now requires new members of the sales staff to pass their first training course before signing even a single client.

The San Rafael, Calif.-based processor also stipulates that salespeople earn full certification by the time they have acquired 10 customers for the company, a company press release said.

Central Payment hopes to certify all of the company’s more than 700 salespeople by June 1, the release said.

“The landscape of payment processing is rapidly changing, and the growth opportunities are unlimited,” Zachary Hyman, managing partner, said in the release. “At the same time, without training, new agents may not be fully prepared to answer questions or to provide the guidance requested by customers.”

The Central Payment courses cover regulation, standards, technology and business practices, according to the release.
