Qualpay adds feature to hold onto subscription-based clients

Omnichannel payment software provider Qualpay is adding a recurring billing feature to its platform to support clients that operate subscription-based business models.

San Mateo, Calif.-based Qualpay has added an account updater to the service, allowing merchants to deliver customized billing plans, automate cardholder updates, simplify pricing management, improve data security and track payments.

“In order to address the needs of today’s consumer, merchants are continuing to spend time and money to add capabilities on top of legacy payment systems,” Craig Gass, CEO of Qualpay, said in a release. "We want to simplify payments for our customers and partners by taking an integrated platform approach that tracks fees and reconciles each transaction from sale to deposit in a single report."

As an integrated payments platform company, Qualpay says the feature will set up customers for recurring, installment or subscription payments. On selected billing dates, Qualpay will automatically charge customers on an assigned plan and provide reports of the transaction activity.

For merchants that have customers with unique billing and payment scenarios, Qualpay can establish separate customer subscriptions rather than build a single plan for all customers.

The account updater feature will eliminate multiple customer touch points by automatically updating card data. The recurring billing system can be set up through an application programming interface or through the Qualpay Manager portal.
