Regions Expands Its Mobile Banking And Payments

Regions Financial Corp. has updated its mobile banking capabilities to enable customers to transfer funds among internal accounts, pay bills and receive text alerts about balances and other details.

Online-banking customers may use text banking and visit the bank’s mobile website, m.regions.com, or download an application for Apple Inc.’s iPhone, the Birmingham, Ala., banking company noted in a March 9 news release.

“Our new offering provides mobile-banking access to anyone with text messaging or Internet capability on their mobile device, giving Regions customers the ability to manage their banking needs from anywhere at any time,” Stephen Lamar, the head of mobile banking at Regions, said in the release.

Besides transferring funds between Regions accounts and scheduling bill payments, customers also may check balances and view up to 10 days worth of transaction history, locate branches and ATMs through text commands or satellite global-positioning systems, receive text alerts about low funds and transactions, and perform transactions by sending texts.
