PayPal’s mobile app, available for iOS and Android devices, can now communicate with Revel System, enabling users to order ahead at businesses using Revel’s payments tablet, the companies said in an Oct. 14 press release.

“For years people have been using PayPal to shop online, and the integration with Revel now brings the same convenience and security to brick and mortar retail and food establishments allowing consumers to pay on the go," says Lisa Falzone, CEO of Revel Systems, in a press release.

Revel has also entered into a similar point of sale integration with SumUp, a U.K. mobile payments company.

The Revel/PayPal integration adds Revel merchants PayPal’s mobile directory, which lets consumers locate nearby businesses that accept PayPal payments.

PayPal has made expansion into brick and mortar a top priority, a move largely driven by a partnership with Discover and the recent introduction of Beacon, a Bluetooth-based system for detecting when PayPal mobile app users enter a store.
