Revolut hires Bottomline to power connection to U.K. faster payments

U.K. fintech Revolut will use Bottomline Technologies' Universal Aggregator to manage a software-based real-time payments button.

The button will enable the U.K.'s Faster Payments Scheme, considered a key move to support mobile commerce and other digital payments.

Revolut, which positions itself as an alternative to physical banks, generally targets younger, tech-savvy consumers. Its services are currently available in Europe, and it is also testing the service in Australia, while planning launches in the U.S., Singapore and Japan in the coming months.

Just last week, Revolut announced it was expanding its global market through Visa card network technology, advancing its mobile-based services for those using Visa cards.

At the same time, Bottomline has continued to advance its security and payments technology, focusing on B2B and compliance issues for PSD2.
