Roamware is making the service, already in use in Europe, available for other countries in Asia and Africa, according to a statement issued by the company. Asia and Africa banks are considering using the service to enable customers to send funds to friends and family, says Avnish Chauhan, Roamware executive vice president.

“This is a cost-saving [service] that could potentially complement ‘no frills’ bank-account offerings to underbanked and unbanked communities in developing economies,” Avnish adds.
